Is Bay Area Pet Adoptions an Animal Shelter or Rescue Group?

We are fortunate to be both. We rescue animals that are either unwanted by their owners or aren’t claimed from surrounding county shelters. We then house them at our facility until a FUR-ever home can be found.

Where are you located?

Our address is 3000 Avenue R, San Leon Texas 77539

What is your adoption process?

Everyone is required to complete an application (which can be found under the adopt tab), then you will be contacted by staff for an appointment.

We do not do same day adoptions, so the adoption process can take a few days while your application is processed.

Are there fees to adopt?

Yes, there are but they are minimal compared to the money that we have invested into them. Our adoption fees help cover the animals’ medical care such as: spaying and neutering, vaccinations, microchips, heartworm preventative, and of course their room, board and care until a FUR-ever home can be found for them.

Our Mission

The mission of Bay Area Pet Adoptions is to shelter companion animals that we have rescued from kill shelters/animal control facilities and individuals until permanent homes are found for them. Our adoption program strives to place the animal with a family whose lifestyle and activity level matches that of the animal.

Bay Area Pet Adoptions provides education and community outreach, focusing on ways to reduce the number of unwanted companion animals and their euthanization. We educate about the daily care and responsibilities of a family pet, including the importance of spaying/neutering, proper vaccinations, and the prevention of heartworms and other parasites. We also provide information on resources available to the community for low-cost spay/neuter assistance and all other medical care. We also offer a low-cost vaccination clinic by appointment.
