On Saturday August 2, 2025, local aerospace company Barrios supplied a team of volunteers to assemble, build, and paint a wooden bridge for the Bay Area Pet Adoptions developing Serenity Gardens project. The bridge’s pathway was painted in rainbow colors and commemorates the passing of our beloved fur friends from this world to the next. The team worked through a steamy morning in the wilds of BAPA’s eastern territories dilligently following the assembly instructions, determining the ultimate layout & final paint scheme, and then completing the job. And all without stray leftover parts!
Thanks to the Barrios team lead by Barrios Chief Strategy Officer Ginger Kerrick and ISS Increment Engineer Emily Watson. Along with Ginger and Emily, the team consisted of a group of industrious college interns including Isay Castro, Sophia Goings, Emma Levenson, Lauren Leitch, Devansh Patel, Michael Taylor, and Kaelyn Tindall.
Other parts of the project include several raised flower beds which have borders in place, but soil and plants are needed. BAPA is soliciting other volunteers to further develop the project. For more info, please call 281-339-2086 or send an email to info@bayareapetadoptions.org.
